Educational Award - Bursary Guidance
This bursary or educational award has been set up to support the Bye Laws associated with student and member support in working towards a qualification that will lead to membership of the Institution or advancement of an existing member.
Aims
- To help support where loss of job or the size of the employing organisation is prohibitive to continued funding of a course of study already commenced.
- To assist Health and Safety practitioners progress but who are unable to get support or continued support from their employer or where the resultant qualifications or skill are no longer required by the employer.
- To support those who are not yet safety practitioners but wish to achieve NVQ Level4 or equivalent. E.g. for employees who are only peripherally involved with safety in their organisation.
The Award
This would be whole or part funding for:-
- One off courses
- Support with materials for such courses
- Support for longer courses over agreed time scales jointly agreed prior to the initial aware being made. This could be subject to agreed targets such as certain percentages being achieved for pass rates in exams or modules of course work.
Commitment to the Branch
Those in receipt of such awards will be required to:-
- Attend branch meetings
- Work with a mentor from the branch
- Present their work or an agreed item at a Branch meeting
- Where appropriate submit a piece to TSP acknowledging the support of the Branch.

- Contact the Branch Secretary for any help and assistance in completing the form
- Send completed applications to the Branch Secretary.
