The Tyne & Wear Branch hold a programme of meetings from September to June each year, usually on the second Tuesday of most months. Meetings provide an opportunity for members to 'network' with each other in a friendly and informal setting. Following a brief discussion of branch business, the majority of time is devoted to a guest speaker, on a topical subject. Once again the Executive Committee are glad to extend an invitation to all branch members to attend a social evening for the Annual Branch Christmas Dinner at Ramside Hall. We meet at 7.30pm in the main bar for an 8.00pm meal. Dress is informal, and partners are welcome. Booking is not necessary..just turn up on the night; we would be glad to see you.

Our ‘Café to Go’ event on Wednesday 14 May will include a number of specialists in the insurance field. This event is very much like speed dating – you move around the tables discussing the topic on that particular table. We’ve never tried this before and we’re really looking forward to it. It will be held at Nissan Sports and Social Club, starting with a buffet lunch at 12.30, followed by the main event at 13.00
The Annual General Meeting is preceded by a sumptuous buffet and an address by the President of IOSH.
This is the most important meeting of the year, at which the Branch Officers are elected for the following year. It is important to supply the Branch Committee with a continuous supply of 'fresh blood', so if you would like to assist in the organisation of your Branch, don't hesitate to come forward. Nominations must reach the Branch Secretary at least 30 days before the AGM, and nomination forms will be distributed to all members during the Spring.
The executive will meet for a mini conference to agree the priorities and plan for the forthcoming year.
The Branch Construction Section hosts a series meetings and events during the year, and construction members are notified by letter.
All meetings will start at 1.30 pm and be held Northern Rugby Football Club, McCracken Park, Great North Road, Gosforth, Newcastle upon Tyne. Members wishing to attend the meetings must confirm there attendance for refreshment purposes with Doug Kell, Secretary of the Newcastle Construction Safety Group at kellceca@aol.com
